Many of the traditional aeration devices like paddlewheels, air jet, and aspirator style aerators have a poor track record of reliability and higher overall energy requirements. By utilizing NANO TUBE® technology, an NANO BOT® solves both of these problems.

Producing natural microbes

NANO BOT®'s breakthrough technology is able to treat all kinds of organic waste including residential, commercial, industrial and municipal sectors. It can be effectively used in natural waterways such as rivers, lakes and bays. Unlike other water cleaning treatment systems, NANO BOT® constantly produces its own good microbes, eliminating the need to add new microbes everyday. The microbes are all-natural and have not been genetically modified. They are safe from pathogens or from the risk of mutation. Only microbes classified by the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as BioSafety Level 1 are used in the NANO BOT®.

NANO BOT® vs Paddle Wheel reports

A study comparing the water movement and mixing capabilities of a 1 Hp NANO BOT® and a 1 Hp Paddle Wheel.

Equipment used:

1/ 1 Hp NANO TUBE® (3-Grids)
2/ 1 Hp PaddleWheel

Pond dimensions:

Area: 0.4 hectare (4,000 m2)
Depth: 6 feet (1.83 meters)

Method:

1. Both the 1 Hp NANO BOT® and 1 Hp Paddle Wheel were started 5 minutes before the dark purple dye was released into the ponds at the exact same time.

2. The coverage of the dye in the pond was then compared at certain time intervals - 18 mins, 30 mins and 55 mins

Outcome (18 minutes):

Observation: Both the NANO BOT® and the Paddle Wheel are able to move the water well in the pond.

The colour of dye coverage in both ponds are dark purple.

Outcome (30 minutes):

Observation : Both the NANO BOT® and the Paddle Wheel are still moving the water at the same rate with similar coverage of dye in the pond. The colour of dye coverage in both ponds are still dark purple.

Outcome (55 minutes):

Observation: Both ponds are completely covered with dye. However, there is a noticeable colour change in the pond using the Paddle Wheel.

For Paddle Wheel: The dye had sunk to the bottom of the pond.

For NANO TUBE®: The dye is continually brought to the surface of the water.

Conclusion:

1) Both NANO TUBE® and Paddle Wheel were able to circulate the water at similar rate.

2) However, the NANO TUBE® was able to provide better vertical mixing, bringing the water and aeration from the bottom of the pond to the surface.

Hence, that would mean more aeration for our aquaculture species across the entire pond.

NANO BOT® in the nursery ponds

Low dissolved oxygen is the most common cause of fish kills in ponds. Contrary to popular belief, fish kills are never caused by natural over-population. A pond will naturally stay within its capacity to support fish under normal conditions. The NANO TUBE® also delivers a very efficient amount of oxygen to the water transferring 3.6 Kgs of oxygen per hour, enabling the microbes to have a good source of oxygen.

Oxygen improves the growing of shirmp, tilapia, biomass by supplying oxygen needs on a 24/7 basis because the oxygen supports the aerobic digestion of all foods whenever the tilapia needs or wants to eat. The supplying of oxygen to intensive growing systems has been accepted for many years, but the idea of supplying oxygen to dirt ponds has only recently been looked at. As a general rule, 1 hp of electric aeration should be available for each surface acre (4 acre feet) of intensive aqua culture production. Aeration equipment should be placed along the longest pond bank. Aerators should be started before DO falls below 3 mg/l

NANO BOT® in the fish farms

In outdoor ponds, oxygen depletion events can occur at anytime, however, they are most likely to cause fish kills during hot summer weather. A decrease in oxygen production is caused by incidents such as cloudy weather and plant or algae die-offs that shut down photosynthesis. Heavy populations of plants or algae are the most important producers of oxygen in the system.
